The Peak Fly Shop has been serving Colorado Springs since March of
1996. We are a full-service fly shop, providing not only the finest in
fly-fishing equipment, but also information, classes, guide services
(CO Outfitters' License #2308), and destination trips. We carry many of
the top name brands in the business.
But there's so much more to the Shop than just our products. Part of
what separates us from the big sporting-goods stores is the personal
attention, expertise, advice and up to date fishing information you
just can't get elsewhere. Not to mention the people!
Brad Tomlinson is the owner of the Peak Fly Shop. An avid fly fisherman,
Brad turned his back on law school and parlayed his desire to be a
trout bum into a career when he purchased the shop. Brad has taken the
shop from a much smaller venture and expanded it, moving to the
current, larger location in 2001.
Suppliers and Manufacturers
In addition to offering expert instruction, tutelage, and advice, we
are proud to be partnered with some of the best name-brands in the fly
Sage is one of the worlds top fly rod manufacturers, who combine
cutting-edge technologies with some of the best craftsmanship you will
find on the market today. With fly rods that will satisfy the
budget-minded or beginning angler, all the way up to the world's most
advanced and technical rods for the most demanding of conditions, there
is a Sage rod for everyone.
The R.L. Winston Rod Company is a venerable rod manufacturer that
combines one of the most honored histories in the rod-making industry
with the latest in technology. Winston rods are as beautiful to look
at, as they are to fish - hence the expression "fish a Winston for a day
and you'll be hooked forever."
Simms manufactures the world's finest outerwear for the fly fisher.
From highly technical fleeces, to the world's best-made waders (the
only company to make their waders in the United States!), to rock-solid
wading shoes, to some of the best rain gear on the market, Simms is an
industry leader. Their products feature Gore-Tex and incorporate the
latest in craftsmanship and high-tech materials. The fish never take a
break for weather; why should you?
The Ross Reel Company makes some of the best fly reels on the market
today. Handsome, reliable, and rugged, Ross reels are manufactured by
people who fish, for people who fish, in Montrose, Colorado.
Fly fishing shouldn't cost a fortune. Redington understands this, and
their reasonable approach to the water reflects it. Reliable, quality
gear at a great price has always been their hallmark. Rods, reels,
outerwear, and more Redington rods are great for beginners,
budget-minded anglers, or for those that don't get out enough to
justify a high-dollar excursion into buying. Great product at a great
price Redington delivers.
Most reel companies are started by machinists with extra time on their
hands. What happens when a couple of engineers, who happen to be fly
fishers, decide to make a reel? You get something like The
Waterworks-Lamson company. Ultra-large arbor, super-high-performance
reels, that incorporate many design ideas not seen in other
manufacturers products. From trout to tarpon, and from entry-level to
high-end, this company has a reel for you.
These are just a few of the high-quality companies whose products we
proudly sell in our shop. Other manufacturers we endorse include Rio
Fly Lines, Korkers, Scientific Anglers, Hatch Outdoors fly reels, Costa Del Mar sunglasses, Smith Optics, and more.
